Birthdays, showers, and graduations
Birthdays, baby showers, graduation parties, retirements, first communions, gender reveals, and the backyard cookout that turned into a party. Patti's Pastries has been the dessert at Pittsburgh family celebrations for over 40 years. Our family bakes every cupcake and every custom cake by hand, and we bring it to your door or set it up on your table.
We do not do weddings anymore. We do everything else.
Custom cakes and cupcakes, matched to your theme
Tell us the theme and the colors and our family will match it. We have made a Winnie the Pooh cake for a first birthday, Mickey cupcakes, a Paris themed cupcake set for a sweet sixteen, gem topped cupcakes for a shower, a golf cake, and a Stanley Cup for a very good day. The cake is the centerpiece and the cupcakes are what everyone actually eats, so we build both to match.
For graduations we do school colors, the year, and the grad's name, and we have handled the big parties where three families combine and the headcount passes a hundred.
Every cake and cupcake is baked fresh the day of the party. Nothing comes out of a freezer.
Kids' birthday parties
A kids' party is the order we have made more of than any other in 40 years. The formula that works: a custom cake in the theme, matched cupcakes for the kids so nobody has to wait for the cake to be cut, and a few best sellers for the adults standing around the kitchen. Brownie Batter, Cookie Dough, and Oreo are the flavors the kids pick when we let them.
We do character themes, sports themes, princess and dinosaur and truck themes, number cakes for the first few birthdays, and the sheet cake with the photo on it that grandparents love. Tell us what the kid is into and we will make it.
For a party at a trampoline park, a bowling alley, or a rented hall, we deliver to the venue at the time you tell us, and we can bring the stands so the table is ready when the party walks in.
Baby showers and gender reveals
Shower orders are where the prettier flavors come out: White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Lemon Raspberry, Strawberry Almond Cream, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, and Pink Lemonade. We set them on tiered stands so the dessert table looks finished the moment guests walk in.
For a gender reveal, we fill the cupcakes or the cake with the color and keep the secret. Tell us by phone, not in front of the family, and we will handle the rest.
Showers tend to land on weekends in spring and early summer, and those weekends fill up. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

Ask for gluten friendly cupcakes on any order so nobody at the party has to skip dessert.
Graduation season
From late May through June the delivery van is full of graduation orders. Here is how we handle the busiest season of the year.
School colors and the year
Cupcakes frosted in the school colors with the graduation year on the topper, and a cake with the grad's name and photo.
Combined parties
When three families throw one party, the headcount passes a hundred fast. We scale the order and bring the truck if the driveway has room.
Open house timing
Graduation open houses run all afternoon. We time the delivery so the dessert table is set before the first guests and holds up through the last.
Book early
The same two Saturdays in June get everyone's party. Get your date to us by April to be safe.

We deliver and set up across the Greater Pittsburgh region: the city neighborhoods, the South Hills, the airport corridor, Sewickley and the Quaker Valley, Beaver County, Washington County, and the Laurel Highlands for larger orders. Flavors, allergies, and the small details
A party order is only as good as the details, so here is how we handle the ones people ask about most: flavors for a mixed crowd, allergies at the table, and the confirmation that keeps everyone on the same page the morning of. Forty years of family parties have taught us which questions come up, and we would rather answer them before you have to ask.
The nine best sellers cover most parties. For showers and milestone birthdays we add the fruit and cream flavors. For kids we lean on chocolate and cookie flavors. If you are not sure, tell us the crowd and we will build a mix that works for it.
Our kitchen processes nuts and gluten, so we cannot promise an allergen-free product, but we do offer gluten friendly cupcakes and we will tell you honestly which flavors contain nuts, like Burnt Almond and Strawberry Almond Cream, so you can plan around a guest.
Every order is confirmed by email with the flavors, the count, the delivery time, and the price. If the headcount changes, call us. We adjust right up until the morning we bake.
Milestones, reunions, and the parties in between
Milestone birthdays
A 40th, a 50th, an 80th. A cake with a photo from the year they were born is the move, and the cupcakes carry the party.
Retirement parties
Office send-offs and the family party afterward. We do both, and the office order is often what brings the family one.
First communions and christenings
Spring Sundays at the parish halls across the region, with simple elegant cupcakes and a cross or a name on the cake.
Reunions and cookouts
A pavilion full of relatives and a pink truck at the end of the parking lot. Everyone gets a cupcake, nobody has to serve, and the cousins who drove in from out of state finally get the Patti's cupcake they have heard about.
