A custom corporate cake made by Patti's Pastries for a law firm event

Corporate and office catering

A tray of grocery store cupcakes in the break room says "we had to do something." A pink cupcake truck in the parking lot says something else. Patti's Pastries has catered corporate events across Pittsburgh for over 40 years, from a dozen boxed best sellers for a Monday meeting to the truck parked outside a warehouse at shift change so three hundred people each get a handmade cupcake.

Everything is baked by our family, by hand, the day it is served. No machines, no frozen product, no storefront. We bring the bakery to your office.

Four ways we cater a corporate event

Boxed delivery

A few dozen of the best sellers delivered to reception before the meeting. The simplest order we take and the most common.

Dessert table

Tiered cupcake displays and a custom cake set up in the conference room, lobby, or event space, ready when the doors open.

The pink cupcake truck

We park outside the building and serve your people from the window. Employee appreciation days, open houses, shift-change treats.

Custom and branded

Logo toppers, company colors on the frosting, and custom cakes shaped like whatever your team is celebrating. We have done a law firm cake, a golf outing cake, and a Stanley Cup.

What a corporate order looks like, start to finish

Most corporate orders start with a phone call from an office manager who has a date and a headcount and not much else. That is all we need. We ask where the event is, whether it is indoors or outdoors, what time people will actually eat, and whether anyone needs gluten friendly. From there we recommend a format: a boxed delivery for a meeting, a dessert table for a reception, or the truck for a crowd.

We confirm the order by email with the flavors, the count, the time, and the price, and we ask for a contact who will be on site. On the day, the cupcakes are baked that morning, boxed or set on stands, and delivered or driven over in the truck. For a dessert table we arrive early enough to set up before the doors open and we take the stands away afterward.

If the headcount changes the week before, call us. We would rather adjust than see a floor go without.

Employee appreciation, client events, and the holidays

The most common corporate booking is employee appreciation: a company wants to say thank you to a floor, a crew, or the whole building, and a cupcake handed over by a person from a bright pink truck does that better than an email. We time the truck to shift changes so night crews are covered too, and we bring enough that nobody has to pick between two flavors.

Client events and open houses are the second most common. A dessert table with a custom cake and tiered cupcakes in your colors is a centerpiece for the room, and it is a lot easier than a sit-down dessert course. For holiday parties, December books out early. Get your date to us in October if you can.

We also do product launches, retirement send-offs, milestone anniversaries, training days, and the all-hands where somebody finally thought to order dessert.

Who we cater for around Pittsburgh

Downtown Pittsburgh offices and law firms on Grant Street. Hospital departments in Bloomfield and Oakland. Logistics and distribution centers in the airport corridor around Imperial, Findlay, and Robinson. Dealerships and offices along Route 19 in Washington and Southpointe. Business parks in Cranberry and the North Hills. Beaver County employers from Center Township to Beaver.

If your company is anywhere in the Greater Pittsburgh region, we have probably delivered within a few miles of it. Area pages for the places we visit most are linked at the bottom of this page.

For a company with multiple locations, we can stagger deliveries across the week so every site gets the same treat on its own day.

The flavors that win at the office

Corporate orders lean on the nine best sellers, because they are safe bets for a mixed crowd. In order of how fast they disappear at office events:

  • Brownie Batter, our number one everywhere.
  • Salted Caramel Pretzel.
  • Cookie Dough.
  • Red Velvet.
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter.
  • Triple Chocolate and White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle.
  • Gluten friendly cupcakes, which we recommend including on every corporate order.

Corporate events we have catered

A sample of the kinds of corporate bookings on our calendar, so you can see where yours fits.

A law firm anniversary cake

A custom cake built for a firm's milestone celebration, with cupcakes in the firm colors for the staff.

A golf outing

A golf themed cake for the awards dinner and boxed cupcakes at the turn. The cake is in our events gallery.

A Stanley Cup celebration

A cake shaped like the Cup for a company party during a playoff run. We will match whatever your office is excited about.

Shift-change truck stops

The pink truck parked at a distribution center for both shifts so every crew got the same treat.

Hospital department deliveries

Boxed best sellers to nursing units and medical offices in Bloomfield, Oakland, Beaver, and Washington.

Holiday parties

Dessert tables for December parties from Downtown to Cranberry, booked in October.

How booking works

Call (724) 770-0745, email patti@pattispastries.net, or use the booking form on our events page. Tell us the date, the address, the headcount, and whether you want delivery, a dessert table, or the truck. We will come back with options and a quote.

For boxed orders of a few dozen, a week or two is usually fine. For the truck, a dessert table, custom cakes, or anything over a hundred cupcakes, plan on 4 to 6 weeks of notice. For the holidays, book as early as you can.

We confirm the order in writing, we show up on time, and the cupcakes are baked that day. That is the whole process.

Pricing and what drives it

Corporate pricing comes down to three things: how many cupcakes, which format, and how far. A boxed delivery of best sellers is the simplest and least expensive. A dessert table adds the stands, the setup, and the custom cake. The truck is priced for the event, based on the crowd and the hours, and for private corporate events the host covers the cupcakes so guests eat free.

Custom work like logo toppers and specialty flavors adds a little. Gluten friendly cupcakes do not cost extra to add to an order. We quote everything up front in the confirmation email so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Call (724) 770-0745 with your date and headcount and we will have a quote back to you quickly.

Why offices choose Patti's over a grocery store tray

Our family bakes everything by hand the day it is served. People notice the difference on the first bite.

A truck people remember

An email about an appreciation day gets ignored. A pink cupcake truck in the parking lot does not.

Easy to book

One call, one confirmation email, and we handle the rest. No portal, no account, no minimum paperwork.

Reliable

We have worked the biggest festivals in the region. A Tuesday delivery to your office is not going to rattle us.
