Cupcakes and Lady Locks at Fort Ligonier Days in Ligonier, PA
Fort Ligonier Days is the event that put a Patti's Lady Lock in a Texas customer's hands and had her writing to us about it a year later. Every October the town of Ligonier fills the Diamond and Main Street for three days of history, parade, crafts, and food, and the pink cupcake truck is part of it. In 2026 that is October 9 to 11 at 100 East Main Street.
Ligonier is about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh on Route 30, in the Laurel Highlands of Westmoreland County. It is the farthest regular stop on our calendar, and one we would not miss.
“So last year while visiting Pennsylvania, we stumbled upon Fort Ligonier Days. Patti's Pastries had a food truck there. We bought a Lady Lock. My absolute favorite dessert that I just can't find in Texas. It was seriously the best that I have ever had. Dream worthy.”
Fort Ligonier Days on the Diamond
The festival commemorates the 1758 Battle of Fort Ligonier with a reenactment at the fort, a Saturday parade down Main Street, hundreds of craft and food vendors, and a crowd that comes from across the state. The Diamond, Ligonier's town square with the bandstand in the middle, is the center of it, and the vendor rows run out from there.
For us it is Lady Lock weekend as much as cupcake weekend. The jumbo vanilla and chocolate Lady Locks come to Ligonier by the hundreds and go home in boxes. The fall cupcakes, Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Pie, and Pumpkin Dulce De Leche, ride along with the best sellers. If you want a specific flavor, Friday is the day to come.
Fort Ligonier Days, day by day
Three days, three different crowds. Here is how the weekend runs for the truck.
Friday, October 9
The festival opens, the school groups come through, and the full lineup is on the truck. The best day to get a specific flavor or a box of Lady Locks.
Saturday, October 10
Parade day on Main Street and the busiest day by far. The Lady Locks go first, then the fall cupcakes. We bake extra and it still runs tight.
Sunday, October 11
The reenactment at the fort draws the history crowd, and the vendor rows are calmer. Whatever is left goes home in boxes by mid-afternoon.
Catering in Ligonier and the Laurel Highlands
Outside of October, the truck and the delivery van make the Route 30 run for parties and events in Ligonier, Latrobe, Greensburg, Laughlintown, and the Idlewild side of town. Family reunions at the Laurel Highlands cabins, retirement parties, church festivals, and school events are the usual reasons.
Because Ligonier is a longer drive for us, we group the bookings and ask for a little more notice, 6 weeks where you can. For large orders, the Lady Locks and cupcakes travel well, so a Pittsburgh family bringing dessert out to a mountain cabin weekend is something we handle all the time.
Call (724) 770-0745 or send a request through our events page.

Ligonier, the Diamond, and the Laurel Highlands
Ligonier is a borough of about 1,500 people that hosts tens of thousands during Fort Ligonier Days. The Diamond, the town square with the white bandstand, is ringed by shops and restaurants, and Fort Ligonier itself, rebuilt on the original 1758 site, sits at the west end of Main Street. Idlewild & SoakZone is a few minutes east on Route 30, and the Laurel Highlands ridges rise up on both sides.
It is a tourist town in the best sense, with cabin rentals, bed and breakfasts, and a summer and fall calendar that runs from the Ligonier Country Market on Saturdays to the Highland Games in September to Fort Ligonier Days in October. Those crowds are why the drive out Route 30 is worth it to us.
Outside the festival, Ligonier and the towns along Route 30, Latrobe, Greensburg, Laughlintown, and Stahlstown, are a once-in-a-while run for us rather than a weekly one, so we batch the orders and ask for 6 weeks of notice. For a cabin weekend or a family reunion in the mountains, a box of Lady Locks and cupcakes from a Pittsburgh family travels well.
